Fall Crafting with Kaiden

Kaiden and I decided today was a good day to do some fall crafts while Av had her nap. We started with some shaving cream and paint art

We then did some shaved crayon fall leaves:

I dare you to watch this without smiling

I love love love the bond that is building between my children. I felt it before Avarie came into this world when Kaiden kissed and hugged my belly and I love watching it unfold in front of me. This video captures part of their love and joy expressed between them.

Beautiful Month, beautiful life

Fall is by far my favourite time of year. I love the beautiful colours, the crisp fall air, the smell of apples baking..mmmm. I always feel so thankful this time of year and close to those I love. I have recently read about a family that almost lost their 18 month old baby which has brought to light how thankful I am for my beautiful children, husband and family. I am soaking in every precious moment as I know life passes us by so quickly and I want to remember every moment. I feel so lucky and often try to savour moments like my wonderfully sensitive boy looking at me with eyes filled with love and whispering "mom, you are bew te ful". My heart fills when I snuggle in the wee hours of the morning with my sweet smelling baby girl. This evening while nursing her before bed she looked at me with her beautiful eyes and giggled while I honked while she playfully squeezed me nose. After reading to my amazing, smart boy tonight; he proudly told me that Ant, Arrows and Avarie start with the letter A! He is learning so quickly and doing wonderful at preschool. I am so very proud of my children and am enjoying every moment of watching them grow.  Here is a favourite picture from a playground trip this weekend of my babies sharing a sibling moment

Daddy's girl

A friend posted this on facebook and it brought tears to my eyes. I think these are such important things to remember as a parent both to a son or daughter. Treasure every moment, clean less and play more!

Like Mother, Like Daughter

My mom is great at saving special items of ours from when we were kids and she passed a few dresses of mine on to me to wear on my daughter when I found out I was having a girl. Here is a shot of Me in 1985 in this dress and Av wearing it now in 2011 :)

Solids!

We have started Av on some solids and so far she has loved each new dish! So far she has tried sweet potatoes, pears and carrots and has loved each one! Here is a pic of our happy girl after her sweet potatoes and cereal

Real life fairy-tale

We were lucky to be invited to experience a real life fairytale when our family friend Wed her childhood sweetheart (reunited on facebook years later!) this past weekend :) It was a beautiful day and ceremony filled with tears of joy and special memories. Her is a shot of my beautiful family all dressed up:

Exhibition

We took Kaiden to this year's ANE and he loved it! He had a great time and bravely went on many rides on his own! We were joined by his Grammy and Pops, Grandma & Papa and Uncle Kevin, Aunt Erica and Cousin Layla. It was a fun evening!
